We have a great record of teaching beginners to row. Many people who have completed our learn to row courses have gone on to compete at major national and regional events. Whether your ambition is to row competitively or you just fancy trying something new, our courses are a perfect place to begin your rowing adventures!

Learn to Row

6 weeks | 2 sessions per week

Teaching people to row is at the heart of what we do at Auriol Kensington Rowing Club. Our course has been carefully constructed to provide a smooth path from complete beginner to competent rower. No experience or knowledge of rowing is assumed and we start right from the basics. 

You will be coached some of the club’s most experienced coaches, rowers, and coxes. 

This course supports those new to the sport and prepares them to join our development rowing squad.

Get Fit to Row

7 weeks | 2 sessions per week

Rowers train hard. Whether you are looking to join a rowing team or returning to rowing after a break, this course is for you.

Throughout the winter months, we run rowing-based fitness classes. These focus on developing the core physical attributes of good rowing – strength, endurance, flexibility and stability.

All of our courses are led by experienced rowers and coaches who will be able to give you one on one guidance and feedback throughout. This course is ideal for people without any prior experience as it helps teach you the basic body movements without worrying about an oar in your hand.
